Hmmm ... someone making his first post recommends a website.

No rats to be smelled there, then.
Ciao,

Right - im in a good mood so I won't criticise the blatant spam (I reserve the right to do so later!).
However, I would suggest that if you plan on promoting the website, please make sure it is half decent. The love heart twirling around makes me want to puke. This also applies to the 'click to enter' link on the homepage.
Secondly, USING CAPS WHEN TYPING IS REGARDED AS SHOUTING. It is also harder for people to read.
Also for what is essentially a basic HTML document it doesn't validate.
I could go on but I couldn't be bothered.

Helloooooo pop up windows. Even managed to beat firefox, not liking that much.

My website doesn't validate either according to that test, I got 12 errors! Never mind, none of them look too serious and can be easily fixed. Nice to know I don't need to do much to conform to standards.

Needless to say, my photos shall remain on my site, and not be entered on lovemycar.

I didn't come accross any popups and am getting no warnings from my blockers.
However, Dave - you are not (I presume!) pimping your site across the internet and therefore aren't placing yourself under the same kind of scrutiny. (I would however, remove the frames as they aren't really necessary )

I don't recall seeing any form of privacy policy either!

I wouldn't dream of it dear boy! People are very welcome to visit my site, the link is always in my sig but I'm not going to tell everyone about it every five minutes. I do it entirely for my own amusement and learning.

I'm just moving on to javascript now! Using frames was the only way I could achieve the look I wanted with my fairly limited knowledge. I'll let you know when I get it 'right'

Wow - you guys really have fun being self rightous. This is a free -non profit making website. I make not a penny. In fact I pay for the hosting - My Moke is not for sale ( who ever thought that got it wrong ) it was sold years ago. The only car for sale is a BMW from your own member - I have put this post here simply so you can use this free site if you so wish - no pressure - totallt free - your choice - I have no idea that any cookies are being used - I know of no pop-ups on the site  -  As to the aesthetics of the website why be so rude? I appreciate that you are all website wizkids -I am simply a beginner using a commercial website creation programme - so any errors in validation are down to that - However in spite of all this I am sorry I ever put the post on your precious forum - I have done similar posts on many other club site and they have been most welcoming. Maybe that's why so many driver loathe BMW drivers  on the road and will not give them the time of day. Please remove my posting from your site and continue being so superior and introspective but not at my cost.

Calm down matey, its only a forum.

Like yourself I struggle and actually get help from these guys.

Good luck with your website, and you are very welcome to post here.

Best Wishes

Don't get snotty with us.
You made a link to your website despite agreeing to the no spam rule so if you cannot handle criticism then don't post your URL! I don't think anyone was being rude though - which bit did you find rude.
This website is run as part of a non profit club. None of the forum members including myself as its administrator get any kind of money and like yourself the hosting has to be paid for.
As for us all being website whizz kids - I don't recall anyone here claiming to be a website whizzkid - in fact Doive referred to his 'limited knowledge'.
As for us being self rightous - Im usually right but I don't know about the 'self' or 'ous' bits.

Naw - thats just plain old envy! However, my car has a clock so I don't need to ask other road users for the time of day!

If people really want to use an online resource to host photos of their cars, there are already plenty out there. Nobody was rude to you, I looked at the site and was greeted with a load of pop up windows and blinking titles. I'm a member of several forums, and know for a fact that this form of linking is not appreciated at all.

As for us BMW drivers being arrogant - well, the attitudes are quite similar over at the chevette forum! And I hardly think we look down on other road users from our rusty 80's Vauxhalls. So consider carefully before linking your website in forums where you have never posted before, it is a form of spamming and is not appreciated (by me anyway).

I guess so, and not so much as a fare thee well!
