In my opinion for the classic look i would go for 15" x spokes but a set of 17" alpina rep's look great too!! I had 15" x spokes on my e30 and although a pain to clean look just right on the car! |

Contact members via the e30zone web site forum, plenty for sale, and good advice. Even original rims available if your son does wish to keep to a smaller diameter. The beauty with the E30, is she can look quite something even on standard size alloys and just a tweak to the ride height. Good news is that quality 17" tyre prices are now very low, so the only limit is how much to spend. |

Hi all, I am the proud owner of a 1990 325i convertible, and would like to take off the original 14" bottle top alloys for refurbishment and safe keeping. I have been searching for replacements, but am not sure what will fit under the wheel arches. I don't want to mod the car in anyway, but assume that larger wheels will need a lower profile tyre. Can anyone advsie the size combinatiosn thta will work? after that it's a matter of style I suspect, or am I trying to oversimplify the whole equation?

As suggested before you'd be better having a look on e30zone. Bunch of cracking lads and theres always someone talking about their new set of wheels or 'what type shall i get' Alpina reps for me though |

You will find that the 17" give a poor ride and do not handle so well. The best wheels are the 15" BBS if you need to go bigger 16" are OK as in the Alpina but the Alpina wheels are expencive even s/hand

I drove a 325i sport convertible a couple of years ago that was sat on 18" rims and felt very nice to drive. was offered it before the owner went back to her family up north but couldn't afford it. My closest to getting a convertible Paul |

Mr Parish, You are correct in your statement that the 17" are not as good a ride as 15" or !6" but in my humble opinion (IMHO) Alpinas are good but they are quite common. Hartge 16" (yes I am biased) are better on the eye, lighter and an equally good wheel. You will be able to pick up Hartge wheels x 4 for around £250 and they are so light and well made !!! Iain |

I have a set of four split rim (2 piece) genuine Hartge 16 inch alloys with Pirellis which you might be interested in but a little more than 250. Would consider a p/ex if you interested. Iain 07810 650 395 Edited by Iain H |
