I think my 5's just been stretchered off to the scrappy!!!

Senile old woman in a corsa rounded a bend in my village doing I reckon over 40mph, straight over onto my side of the road and straight into me!!!!!!!!

On the plus side her insurance company have called saying she has admitted full liability and fault.

Minus side...my car I reckon it'll be written off, damage would appear to be:
both AEs smashed
Bonnet bent in and up.
Front bumper smashed and pushed upwards
Rad gone
NS wing smashed in and back
OS wheelarch doesnt look too clever either.

BUM

Let's hope the insurance company will front up the true replacement cost of your car taking into account condition and history.

That's a shame, but the main thing is you've lived to tell the tale.  Cars can be replaced or repaired.  It doesn't stop the feeling of disappointment though!

Hopefully things will work out on the insurance front.  The problem is though that the pay-out doesn't cover the hassle factor and general annoyance caused, unnecessary paperwork, etc. so generally speaking you end up out of pocket to some degree.

Still, the bright side is that you may get to go shopping again!

Both angel eyes are gone....if it gets written off then I'll try and replace the celis rears tho.

Her insurance are coughing up for a courteousy car so we'll see.

Frustrating cos mileage was high (despite new engine) so value won't be much and I've just taken a new job so £ will be tight for a while.

Terrible news mate, my comiserations - I know all too well how it feels.

Although, if your Beemer was damaged that badly, what on earth was her Corsa like?! Those things are built from woad and spit, and have all the structural integrity of a damp cornflakes packet.

If the damage isn't structural, I'd say they might have a bash at repairing it. I killed my last e28 by removing a signpost at 70mph (not my fault), and the only structural damage was a very slight kink in the scuttle. The e39 is even better built, so I'd say structurally it might be ok. Wait and see I suppose. All the best with it.

Ta

Because I had swerved to get out of her way but she didnt veer from striaght my damage was concentrated on front passenger side but hers is central. The corsa looks like its been shortened by about a foot.

All the parts lying on the floor seemed to be off the corsa too.

Took some shots with mobile, not gr8 cos it was hammering down but gives you an idea:

Sent a shiver down my spine. It dosent look too bad. Over here you can buy it bcak of the Insurance company even if they do wright it off. IT looks like an easy repair. And looking at the pre crash photos and the fact you have a new engine it might be worth doing.

I hope the gave you a respectibale replacement car. My BM is getting the auto box fixed at the moment under warranty and the feckers gave me a saxo

Cheers

Also why didnt she have the good manners to hit the Metro or Monteago parked behind you and do us all a favor istead of hitting your fine 5....

That damage really doesn't look so bad, I'd guess chassis legs and the like would be nice and straight, plus hopefully the suspension is untouched. If the radiator is damaged, there is a fair chance the slam panel is gone too which could be £££s to replace. If they offer to fix her, I'd take it. But, as has been said, if they do offer you a shoddy price for her, tell them to stick it up their.... nose.

Not sure bout the chassis. More I think about it the more I reckon she should be repairable. Wheels could be turned and the car would start and was driveable-ish.
