For anyone curious, here is a pic of the new Jewel rears for the e32. Complete with Chrome amber bulbs.
I am delighted by the effect and the result. Really updates the back to match the clear front and sides

Nice look Del.

Finally the time is over to order the white glass in Sweden to make the turn signals look different from standard . I wonder how many people have made that mod by themselves, breaking out the old glass in the taillights and glueing in the white glass. Probably many had probs with water leaks later.

I think that would be too far on the e32 personally however I have seen them for the e38 and I think they look the mutts. But each to their own. I just wanted a cleaner look for the rear

LED or Lexus style rear lamps are really Council,
along with oversized aftermarket rims, chrome
arches and Irish number plates. There's some knob
near me with an old E34 with all these 'extras' on,
along with very dark tinted glass. He thinks he's the
King of the Council estate, everyone else think's he's
a bellend.

Nice rear lamps Derek - gives the old Boy a touch of
the E65 look I think and does look a lot more
modern.

Andy,
Agree with you on the aftermarket rims, I think its very simple to make the car say "DEALER" and increasingly hard to make it look err,,,classy, I was really keen to do the lights and am glad I have but still have that tiny nagging doubt.
Errr I do have an Irish plate but would not do the black glass thing
Don't care for Lexus lights but only if i see and e38 with LEDs will I know if my hunch is the same as the Jewels on the e32 or it's Council right enough
I totally adore the M-par's and feel they are still the most "natural" 18" rim on the e32 / e34 they are BLING though but most folks just can't explain why,,,,,

I know what you mean Del! Was torn between the P-Para's and the 19" new M5 style wheels. Didn't regret my choice one bit!

IRISH NUMBER PLATES!!!!

YEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUKKKK!!!

Sorry but I think they look absolutely awful and I never
understood the purpose of them. Most people know
how old an XJ40, W126 Merc or an E32 (the most
common wearers of £59 Norn Iron plates) are so
they don't make anyone think 'wow there goes a
really new expensive BMW". I do hope you didn't add
it! Pleeeeze say you didn't..........
My old blue thing wore an F plate most of it's life, I
only added a one number three letter plate because I
had nothing else to put it on.

I once bought a really nice 1979 633CSi from a
classic car auction with an Irish plate - I spent £80
with DVLA to transfer it off so I could get a proper T
plate back on it. I let the retention of the Irish plate
lapse.........

........and like Paul's E34, the front of that 750i
desperately needs dropping - just 40mm would do it.
Why do old BMW's with oversize wheels always look
like they're taking off?

Why trash the ride on the e32 with cheap springs as Eibach no longer do springs for the V12 and H&R want almost one third of the cars worth for a set

I know of so many e32's that ride like an old Capri thanks to "fashion lowering" these were factory matched to the car chassis were very expensive but atleast on 18" rims in Scotland it rides very well
Re the plate the purpose was the numbers ending in 750
was a heck of a lot better than a three number three letter boring DVLA issue one.

Keep at him Drew!  I've been telling him that for two years but he's not listening.

I'll forgive the numberplate because the motive behind it is the number rather than the lack of an age identifier.

But I have to disagree on window tinting.  On older cars (which had no tinting at all) it can look very good if done properly using a light tint only.  The thing I dislike most about 'classic' cars is the plain glass and I hope to resolve that on both my E32 and E34.

Subtlety is the key

Listening? what part of "no longer made" is getting over????????? and as the car has LAD the rears are useless in te H&R £450.00 set.

Nope if BMW in their wisdom set the car that way then it should stay that way changing springs has a nasty way of trashing sumps suspension and loads more, handling goes to pot as rebound and deflection rates are inconsistant with dampers, just ask Roy who destroyed the sump on his

Wow Del, that looks superb, really nice. When I finally make some money I might explore an E32, gorgeous looking cars.

As for Irish plates, well, I'm Irish and cannot for the life of me fathom why anyone would want to fit Irish plates on a car, they look cheap and naff. Often on ebay a seller will say 'Car X for sale, general pile of crap but a PRIVATE PLATE'. 99% of the time it's a ten-a-penny Irish plate which is apparently desirable. No way I'd fit them to my car. The new Belfast prefix is going to sell like hot cakes - *IG ****, which gives rise to BIG, CIG, DIG, MIG, PIG, RIG etc etc. Expect to see a huge number of these on the mainland.

Well certainly in the West of Scotland they are in quite strong demand and range from a close neighbours now 12 month old 911 Turbo to X5's M3's etc etc and chosen well as I did are only a bit of fun for an old car and nothing to bust a vessel over IMHO the letters on mine XiL whats more fun than an extra Large BMW? and *750,,, why not ??? plus when its on a German look front plate is very effective too.
And, all for £80 plus I had an email offering me £250 for it in December
I searched for two years for an old wreck on an L at the other end from 1972/3 with no joy this was a pressie I am happy with it and have never had any criticism, The car has had private plates all its life the issue plate from DVLA was much more naff IMHO than the current plate.

Still each to their own

The 750i certainly does look like a pretty thing... especially one that's been looked after so well.

Looks like I'll have to keep putting a few pounds in the moneybox every week!!
