 Hi has anyone experienced water under the rear seats on an E36 Convertable ,its only on the near side but has soaked into the cushion i sponged out good 3 or 4 pints .The roof doesn,t leak around the windows could it be from the area where the hood is stored ???? any ideas would be appriciated

Hi,

Mine was doing the same thing.  I found my leak within the hood storage compartment.

The hood frame is mounted on 4 'studs' (2 either side) that are part of the body.  My leak was where the one of the studs was coming out of the body.  I basically loosened the nuts holding down the frame and put some silicone sealant around the base (beneath the hood frame) and tightened back down.  No leaks since.

I used a length of plastic tubing to get the silicone where I wanted as the gun nozzle wasn't going to get close.

 I thought that the water was coming in from the back that would explain it i,ll have a look at the area you mention  thanks  i,ll let you know how i get on
