If this doesn't pi$$ you off then you folks must be angels...

I have taken my car back to HF's for all of my work and would've if I hadn't been passing by ***** **** new service dept. On my way back picking my 4yo from nursery, the tyre pressure light kept coming on. Thinking it may be serious I quickly stopped by at ***** **** to ask whether a technician could/would look at the car as I was worried, especially as my son was travelling with me...

Receptionist "No sorry, there are customers before you and we have to get them out first". Understanding, I just added it'd only take a maximum of 5 minutes as I felt unsafe. "No sorry once again book your car in and we'll look into it". Getting a bit fumed I asked that this type of service will just not do. Her answer "we don't know you". However in clear vision is my car with Arman waving at me and oh yeah there is my number plate type it into your system!!! Surely with or without a young child the dealership should've realised the implications of sending a customer away whose car might be unroadworthy but nah...

Anyway, shocked- gobsmacked, confused and feeling low I walked out without suffering anymore humiliation.

Now, I dont have many good things to say about our Glasgow dealers, but I'm 100% sure this would never have happened at HF's.***** **** will never get a single penny from me ever or my family.

Tiko

Guys - while I sympathise with you, we are not allowed to name dealers in posts like this. As Pete has said below, please PM James (BMBits) with any problems and we will go through the proper channels.
I'll lock the thread now. NeRo

My order is with HF's...but still I want answers. I'm definitely writing a letter to BMW(UK) regarding this matter and depending on the outcome will I then progress with my order otherwise...

Thats just typical of BMW Stealerships

IMHO They don't give an fcuk unless you want to buy a car! Fairplay the cars are worth it but, I can't help feeling their customer care has vanished which has been devoured by greed and sales targets.

German Cars  British Salespersons

That's sad news m8, especially with a young one actually in the car at the time. You have every right to complain to BMW(UK) good luck m8.

My experience with Fairbairn's is that they are no better.  They tried to fix a bad steering wobble on my car twice, bushes, shocks, TREs etc. etc., KDS twice - cost  fortunes and it was just as bad.

I had a puncture, changed the wheel and it was fixed.  T0ssers.

That's terrible, especially if something had happened, perish the thought. I must admit I find JCs up here very good indeed, friendly, knowledgable & helpful, between them & Kev Arthur, we are well looked after up here.

Asked Nero to open this thread so that I could let you know the outcome of yesterdays showdown.

A telephone conversation with the ever so apologetic service manager stating their fault in not dealing with the urgency it required. In no way should I have been redirected or asked to bring or book the car as the concerned matter in question into the cars drivability was in question.

The manager concluded in his own words "that a technician should've looked over the car, for any tell tale signs, this would've confirmed any immediate action required".

He also wanted to reassure me that they regard themselves as one of the best dealer networks in Scotland and take all their work very seriously and no way should I feel unwelcome in bringing custom to themselves once again.

Quick thanks to noisufnoc for getting the words round the correct way!!! I believe John also received a phone call as well from the garage regarding this matter.

A loss in pressure due to either tyre damage, puncture or just simply air.

did you check the tyres for obvious visible damage and their pressure before heading to the dealer?

if you made that clear to them at the time then their attitude is very bad - a possible malfunction in the tyre sensor system would need to be diagnosed, if they didn't take heed or you didn't tell them that you've checked the pressures/for leakage then they might infer (and i'm not condoning this) "RTFM - pump your tyres up!"

whats normal to you and I..may be serious or potentially hazardous. This was the reason for taking the car to someone whom you trust to help rectify or indicate a certain fault that does/doesn't require immediate action.
