Thanks for replying Matt. i'm sure our members appreciate it.
As you can see we have a monthly meet on 30th April in Perth. We also have a dealer visit coming up 6th May at Braehead Glasgow. All of which we are expecting to be well attended and have a wide selection of our memebers cars on display. If you are able to cover any of these events then we would be over the moon and if there is anything you require from us to facilitate this then please let us know and will be more than eager to help. Cheers |

Hello all,
Not as regular a poster on here as m'learned colleague Mr Odantzis, but I'm Matt, the editor of Total BMW. Obviously, this thread started with very high emotions and has since calmed down – thanks for all the feedback, we are always keen to hear it. Whether good or bad, it lets us know how we're doing and where we can improve. We do not wish to exclude Scottish owners (or indeed owners from the north of England). Obviously, as we are based in Bath, getting to Yorkshire and beyond is trickier and more costly than getting to Bristol or London, but as our readers are based all over the country this is a matter for us to deal with, not you! What I will say is that there is some wild conjecture about Total BMW and costs – while we are a professional publication, we are not mixing it with the Top Gears and Evos of this world, and we cannot just do every job with wild abandon; I have to consider the financial implications of each and every shoot. On the other hand, I know full well that you guys north of the border have some stunning machinery, and we do want to cover it! (Before anyone accuses me of southern bias, I'm a northerner as far as Englishmen are concerned and I lived in Stirling for three years! ) So, as has been discussed, the best plan of action is for us to come up and do six or seven feature cars in quick succession (in the space of a week) and then head off again. As Nick has mentioned, two of my freelance contributors are due to head north soon to wrap a lot of cars up, but if we miss you this time, there's plenty more good months of sunshine ahead for us to come up again and do more features; it's not like we'll only come up there once and then never return! Sorry for the length of this post, and sorry if you guys feel like we're neglecting you, but I assure you we aren't – if you've got events going on or some great cars gathered, either email me at matt.robinson@futurenet.co.uk or Nick (his email already provided in this thread) with all the details and we'll get back to you – I can't promise that we'll respond immediately (what with bloody meetings here in the offices! ) but we will keep in touch and do our best to co-ordinate a great trip to Scotland to feature all your cars. All the best guys, remember – keep reading Total BMW, and don't be afraid to let us know about any events/meets you've got planned! Cheers Matt P.S. Donnie, I can assure you that your lovely Henna E28 will be going in the mag – again, we can only get 7 or 8 feature cars into each issue, and I've got about 30 cars already waiting to be published, but it will DEFINITELY be in soon! Keep your eyes peeled... Edited by matthehat17 |
