Just found out that the vibration I have when braking is from the two front alloys being slightly buckled! Apparently it's more noticeably from the inside out than the outside in!
So, I have a couple of options:
1 - Replace the two front alloys with similar 18" parallel replica alloys and use the good tyres already on there, but just need to find decent replicas - can anyone help?
2 - Replace all four alloys with 18" alloys that match exactly, and use the good tyres on all four.
3 - Replace all four alloys with a set of 2nd hand original 18" parallels - seen a couple off ebay, but both from 7 series with different alloy sizes quoted: one set quotes 8.5J x 18 for fronts and 9.5J x 18 for rears, the other quotes fronts as 8J x 18 AH2 and rears as 9 1/2J x 18 AH2 Part numbers 36.11-2 227 631 1513 & 36.11-2 227 633 1525 - would this fit my E39? And would my existing tyres fit (235/40/18 and 265/35/18)?
Although these are quoted as fitting an E39, did the E39 come with a slightly different sized parallel alloy then the 7 series parallels?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated?
