Hi
i am 43 and have had my Cecotto for 6 months. This being my second E30 M3, my first was a Diamond Black '86 car with a low chassis number 1370 i think. I paid £330 for a limited to 5000 miles a year insurance policy with Adrian Flux. The Cecotto is kept in a garage. AON who insured my blcak M3 were more expensive this time around so i went with AF. I live near Brighton East Sussex.

I'm 27 and have had my '87 M3 for around 5 years. It has been off the road for over a year now and will shortly be making it re-appearence (have more or less restored it). Live near Wolverhampton.
I'm a bit lucky with my insurance as my dad is in the motor trade and has had me and the M tagged on to his motor trade policy. Think the additional premium to cover me is around £50.

Lancastrian:
Adrian Flux were not the cheapest (Carol Nash were), but they were the
only ones who got back to me with a quote in a reasonable length of
time (48hrs IIRC)...Carol Nash were nearly £100 less, but I'd already
agreed and paid Adrian Flux by the time they bothered to give me a
quote!
Next time I will begin with more time to sort it out and will aim for £300ish
My insurance could be higher also because I refuse to pay or agree silly excess amounts...So my excess is £150...
Agreed value is £6K

Had my Sport Evo for 18 months, replacing my 52 plate Civic Type R. Unbelievably it was £50 cheaper to insure. I paid £480 fully comp the first year but £650 this year living in South West Cumbria with the car parked on the street.

Owned my M3 for just over 2 years but it has spent most of that time in my "workshop" as a bit of a project car. I hope it is nearly finished now.
Living in Lancashire with an insurance premium of £290 fully comp. on a cherished car policy with 5,000 miles per year and an agreed value of 8K (I hope).
Edit: Just noticed Fusion Julz post. My insurance is through Adrian Flux (best quote). I am a bit older but other than that much the same. What a difference a postcode makes.

What a difference a phone call makes!
I've just been quoted £270 by Catrol Nash fully comp, incl a free valuation with agreed car value in case of payout.
That's a saving of £210 off my previous lowest quote!

My insurance is around 200 odd quid (AON) for the M3 and an M6 on a laid up policy. I am overseas now and if I come home and put one of the cars on the road they usually charge me about 25 quid a week then I can get MOT, buy road tax, refund road tax, SORN, etc.

I'm 27 and have a south london postcode. I bought it about a year ago.
My insurance is 295 fully comp, on a classic policy, with agreed value, european breakdown cover and some other bits I forget. Limited to 5000miles a year... but then again they didn't ask for a mileage reading! In all probability I probably won't do more than that anyway.

I should hope your policy isn't on limited miles, or it might work out to be £50 per mile!
Well, I have now casted my vote - swaying things towards the younger end of the spectrum possibly?
Does this show that the M3 is a respected classic by any motoring nut that's grown up reading car mags? ...or is it that they've now reached a point where they're within the financial reach of younger drivers (without much competition in the price band) as well as providing a rewarding drive?

I could'nt get a limited policy with Carol Nash even though I had a policy for the last 3 years with them on the GTi's.
My policy is not limited, even though I would'nt do 3k miles in a year
I think you have your exchange rate a bit off there. €1 = ~£0.70 or £1 = ~€1.45
Hi to "The Mole", and welcome.
Of course you're allowed to vote (It's my poll, so I make the rules!)
Good luck in your search, good cars are getting harder to find - well at sensible prices anyway!
Insurance has been mentioned here once or twice in the past , but you can get good deals. £3000 for limited mileage - phew!

Hi All,
Am I allowed to vote as a 'soon to be' E30 M3 owner? When I can find a sorted car that is... or should I leave now?
For the record, I'm just about to turn 30 and have been quoted £388 fully comp (with all insurances etc) allowing 5000 miles a year, through swiftcover. I thought this was quite cheap until I saw some of your insurance deals...
...apart from £3000 a year for a 30 year old?! Sounds like I've gotton off lightly!!

Hi all, I'm living in County Meath in Ireland, I have had a few Mk1 GTi Golfs before my E30 M3, as I could not get insured in my M3 until I turned 30years of age.
I have a diamond black US M3 which is fully loaded, heated leather, cruise control,A/C, sunroof, airbag...........
It only has 80k miles on the clock with a FBMWSH.
My insurance is €2,000, which is roughly £3000 a year, they were looking for €4500(£7000) a year but I drive a fleet car with this insurance company for the last 4.5years so they gave me my own personal insurance policy for €2000(£3000)
