Does the central region exist anymore or not.

There are no meetings and no events and no one seems interested .

Not even messages on this forum

Come on central region - do something - except my Meanders.

I did look at posting my request here for info on accomodation near Gaydon for next weekend on this Central Region forum. As there were no current posts i decided to list my topic under 'General non-club issues forum'

Gaydon Accomodation topic

Isn't Gaydon in the Central Region? I would have thought peoples in your area to be jumping up and down with anticipation for the event.

Someone left a note on my windscreen. It read 'Parking Fine' that was nice

There seems to be a regular meander which anyone can attend, and thats about all.

I tried to get some interest in family days out (before my car was written off), and got zippo response.

As my replacement isnt ready yet I wont be attending the gaydon event, but I am in the midlands, Worcester to be precise, if I can be of any help let me know, I can try to check out places to stay if that would help.
Best Wishes

Nigel

I'm live in Cheltenham and so I suppose technically I'm in the Centrral Region?

It would be nice to able to meet up with other members of the region, if there r any?

I'd tend to stretch a point and claim membership of the southwest region if I were you nothing much happens in the central region.

Having said that I'd be happy to meet up for a pint and a look at that E30 once my new one is done

Best Wishes

Nigel

RE: Does the Central Region exist anymore

I met Darren Webster and Karon at Gaydon today and they and others from Central Region were fully involved in the organising of the Gaydon events - so they are still alive and kicking.

They assured me that future events were in the pipeline and they hope to publish these including the date of the next Central members meeting when hopefully members will be forthcoming in what other future events they would like organised. Unfortunately Karon mentioned that their modem is currently faulty and are hoping to get it up and running soon and will then be making contact as soon as possible.

Dave E

PS. We are all grateful to Phil for keeping the Central Region on the map with his monthly Meanders.

Sounds like a plan Nigel.

It seems like I'd have to travel a fair distance to goto a South West meet though. I'd rather meet up with fellow Midlanders/Centrallers and do stuff more local and get a bit more involved.

Eamo - "St Benny's" = St Benedict's?
I also live in Cheltenham, came back about 10 years ago after being away for ........ um, if I told u that i'd give away my age!! - You'll have to wait for donington for that mate!

Perhaps we Cheltonians will have to start our own chapter of the Central Region?

Cheltenham is quite obviously the centre of the universe - we rule!

I went to Bournside school and left about 3 years ago after going to Sixth form there.

Did any of you guys go to Gaydon? It was quite a good day out I thought.

Yes Pikey - I went to Gaydon - "D"Reg Diamond Black E30 M3 - no pictures yet, soon I hope.

I went to Cheltenham Grammer School (Pates as it is now) - years & years ago, but left town when I was 17, and only came back 10 years ago when I was ** yrs old!!

So... so far there are 2 of us in this town - (3 if you count Eamo as an honoury member) - that's enough for our own Chapter, isn't it?

I Believe Jon Murgie is also in Cheltenham and Curtis from Powerstation, both have E30 M3's.

There is also another E30 M3 but I believe the the guy is selling it - boo!

So that makes 4!

My brother went to Pates - they knocked down the old buildings a few years back and built a whole new school on the upper school site!

Don't know John, have meet Curtis (again on Saturday when I had a new exhaust fitted) His M3 is enginless at the moment - got a 2.5 lump to fit!

That wasn't the "old school" they knocked down! The "OLD School" was in Cheltenham High Street - where Wilkinson's is now (look for the Plaque)

I have to admit that I was one of the last boys in the "OLD" and one of the first in the "Old NEW" school! And being an old-boy, I was allowed to look around the New NEW school before it opened

It's all getting a bit confusing this school business!

I've got Curtis' engine. I'm currently swaping it for my engine. His 2.5 should be pretty mental once he gets it - watch this space.
