car is two litre with twin 45 webbers hoping to put throttle bodies on it. 4.1 quaife lsd. 13x7 superlites, 205 michelin slicks, full safety devices roll cage, sparco seats, fairly hot cams, engine rebuild. tii discs and calipers front, rear drums, car is 980 kgs with me in it (14.5st), strut brace, alloy fuel tank located over rear wheels, m3 gearbox, turbo arches, im guessing around the 160bhp mark. fully rally prepared. mainly do track days with it now as find them to be very good. this event we were at was the irish regions Better driving day in mondello on the 27/04. four hours of track time around mondello's national circuit. roughly forty cars split into two groups. this 1973 2002 passed most cars on track including a e46 m3 csl (highlight for me!). barely one second slower than a e30 m3 evo sport. here is a few pics from the day. http://www.bmwcarclubireland.com/gallery/index.php?cat=10113 Edited by M3owner |

Nice Specs, (Are you still on Solid front disks or did you upgrade to vented disks?) My old bastardised tii with a Chiped ported M20 2.5 out of a E30 325i sport was an absolute hoot to drive and dispite the extra weight up the front it handled great, very stiff though spax + uprated springs kept her planted even with 175/70/13's been a hugh fan of Pirelli P3000's on 02's since. I drove it down to Clare must of been about four or five years ago hotly pursued by a V6 156 must have been bewildered as to how this little old (rough) BM could be out pacing him I saw you out on Paddys Day, well I persume it was you? very wet but you seem to more than up to the competition infact I think youself and the guy in the Gun Metal Grey E30 M3 were the only lads able to get the lines right at the bend at the end of the long straight. Back to a standard spec 02 touring now just with electronic ignition and a weber 32/36 so tame enough. Have to hand it to BMW to developing a Chassis so good so early very predictable on the limit and respond so well to a bit of tweaking . Ronnie Griffin's newly built tii is ment be very good although I havnt seen it, will be great to see someone with Ronnies skill in a 02 Rallying. |

M3owner,
nowhere near the spec of yours mate except the brakes. e12 m/cylinder and calipers, E21 323i vented discs and hubs. Car is originally an Auto 2002, I had for free off a guy in Birmingham. Not much is original now mind. Engine is a standard tii with a fast road cam and 40dcoe's, Jaymic 4into1 manifold and custom made 2.5"exhaust. The best bit on the car is the wiring loom as my best mate used to build looms professionally. He used Thin walled cable thoughout, a transit fusebox in the car and every component is individually earthed back to the battery. most of my bits are either secondhand or bought old and new off Ebay. If there's a bad corner to cut in preparing the car then I'm an expert and learnt the hard way. Mark |
