I'm bored in work.

I was looking at the description the users have (mine is Groupie etc), and was thinking maybe they should be changed to something more appropriate to the forum?

My suggestion would be the bmw models, starting at the 1 series and moving up to the top of the range, either x5, or m6 or whatever the mods (in their wisdom) decide is the top of the range bmw.

Whatcha think?

that could be a bone of contention!!!

like i could say that the m1 is the "ultimate" bmw, but you cant buy it anymore (if you ever really could)... so is it limited to new models currently on sale? in which case i pretty much hate them all!!! >> but i'm not a mod; maybe thats why?

lol

not a bad idea..you must be bored alright... only 1 thing i think it could make people think that the people actually drive the model of bmw... having that directly under your forum name at first glance could cause confusion!!!!

Maybe it could be extended to 10 stars instead of 5. 10000 posts gets you 10 stars. The Land Rover Forum have awards for people who put up 1000, 2000, and 5000 posts. I know, I know, even more sad.

But if you owned a Land Rover you'd be online all day asking people how to fix all the problems. God they're rubbish.

Im going to move this to the feedback forum so more people will/may spot it.

Anyhow, the groupings give users more features within the forum - e.g. a newbie or groupie can do less than a senior member etc.
The wording can easily be changed but to what?

Is it broken ? ( not yet as I haven't been at it)

I'd leave it alone, if we get to worrying about titles, maybe we need to pop out and enjoy the real world a bit more.

Best Wishes

Nigel

Being a moderator myself now (username PagodaSwan), on the travel site linked below, I know where you are coming from Niggles.

Except my admin are infuriating, frustrating and just downright pain in rearend. Rhys has already felt how unpleasant they are on the sister site.

Mainly cos they seem to be trying to run the site down and they are not promoting it one iota.

I just have the label of 'Super Moderator', which is kinda boring, so I am going to change it...not sure what to though as yet and being a vBB site, I can change things like that without the admin being around

Life as a moderator, super or otherwise, is not exactly a wonderful one when the higher people ain't exactly enthusiastic or friendly or helpful.
