Upgrades to 530 sports touring

   Hello

I am the proud owner of a 2002 model which is a real peach but showing 

its age in the gadgets department...  What can I do in terms of upgrades?

1) SatNav

I guess this is mk1. Pretty plodding and out of date compared to my 

TomTom 700. Can I upgrade the software in any way? Is the current 

version CD or DVD? Can I get the whole of Europe on a single disk?

2) Telephone

This is the old system where you need to link a telephone by cable and 

put a specific sim card in. Can I get rid of this and get bluetooth for any 

phone? I have heard that the BMW bluetooth setup is not compatible with 

all phones. What do you recommend?

3) iPod

I phoned BMW and they are asking 155 parts + 230 labour + VAT to fit a 

glove box connector. Is this outrageous or what? Are there any third party 

installers out there?

4) Any other recommendations to rejuvenate the electronic side of the 

car?
