when i got my e 36 320 (325 lookalike) a few months ago it came with a very tired looking  set of 17 motorsport rims.yesterday i decided to SPRUCE them up a bit.took me all day but the results where amazing. btw AUTOGLYM SILVER NOS 26 is the paint to use.anyways when i removed the fronts i found wheel spacers???? can anyone tell me the reason for this.tried to put wheel on without spacer and the studs seem too long.didnt measure the spacer but it really isnt that thick,i would say only a few mm.front and back rims are the same size,no spacers on the rear.so with a bit of head scratching, then some more i just put them back on again.the studs really arnt all that long anyway!!

Spacers can also be used to make the wheels appear to 'fill' the arches more. I think Bluebro did that at the front of his E46 M3...
