Hi, have got a few problems with my 525 diesel , starts first time from cold , although not running smoothly , but main problem is  is once the car is warm it doesn't want to start and also when I put it in drive it takes about 20 secs for the power to come through before it decides to move.

can anyone help or have had similiar problems and how to sort it out

cheers

ps ; have just changed glow plugs and fuel pump and fuel filter

20 secs for drive to kick in... ? Andrew are you out there...?

Sound like low fluid in the box maybe..

Not running smoothly and hot start problems remind me of head gasket or cracked head problems. Has it been pressure tested?

Mick

Hi,

Thanks  for your reply, also the glow plug light only comes on after about one hour from warm , is that unusual , and maybe this is why it doesn't seem to start , as for pressure test , this hasn't been done , but it has just been in a garage for about a week and they have said it is definitely not a cracked head or head gasket and also there is plenty of fluid in gearbox , as it seems to change right through all gears.

Any ideas what it could be ?
