My cars a pre facelift model, I personally prefer this look to the kidney grill version, Looks more aggressive IMHO. I've seen quite a few E36's with blacked out grills & think it looks really good. Thinking of doing mine but also like the standard look, especially when the sun catches it. What are peoples opinions on this mod? Has any one got any decent pics of it done on a Boston Green Car with F/Fogs?

Thanks,

Dean.

Stick with the touch of bling on a darker colour car - helps add a note of interest. Like Ady - I put blacked out grilles on my E46 which was 'Steel grey', but I left the Chromed effect on my Touring.

I blacked out the frames and kept the slats chrome.  I like it!  My car is schwarz 2 and the little pop of chrome defines the kidneys.  I say black out.  Try finding a set from your local salvage yard and experiment on those.
