I have a 1982 BMW 320 E21. The oil leak from what I had hoped was a loose sump plug proved to be a hole in the sump !

Does anyone have experience of fitting a sump guard to lessen the chances of this happening again. There are many speed humps in the area where I live and I strongly suspect these are to blame !!

BMW themselves sell sumps, but given the age of the car I would suspect dampers.

..."sumps" should read "sump guards"...
