Hi all

Wondering what you guys think, any comments appreciated.

Considering trading in my 2001 320ci for a 54 320cd m sport. Test drove the car & was really impressed. Torque was far superior & was really lively to drive. Did miss the sound of the straight 6 though! Suspension was a little bumpier though expected, but hoping running costs s.be lower than the 320ci as it comes with the remaining 5yr maintenance pack & looks sweet in the silver-grey CSL colour.

(Also fed up with putting 1ltre of oil in mine every 2k miles.)

Cheers

320cd any day mate, Better performance and more to the gallon what more you want. If you could stretch to 330cd even better brilliant car.

Couldnt agree more, shaft. I have a 330d, 30mpg around town and 45mpg on motorways. The 320d is a lively car, v nice to drive and must be even more frugal. Cant think why anyone would go for a petrol ........ go for the 320cd - you wont regret it!

I find it hard to believe that a 330Cd has a 45mpg fuel cons. on motorways, at 60miles/h maybe right? but not if you go 120m/hour constant.

Late model 320d are very brisk and with a chip are 330d performance. Not revy like the 320, but very nice and lower reving on the motorway particulary with the 6 speed box. Certainly a great car.

Centre arm rest is £280 + vat from BMW, less from indendents and ebay. Very easy to fit 4 screws.  I am still looking for one for my 320.

My main dealer wanted £96+ vat for imitation leather & £118 + vat for real leather. (supply only)  Will everything be included then if your dealer wants £280 + vat?

I think the £280 + vat includes everything but fitting. It's not just the rest, but you need a completely different centre console. However if your dealer can get everything for that price then i will drive up there today as i do want one, but don't want to pay 280 +vat.

Absolutely, its only £120 as a factory option. The dealer quoted me £280+ vat fitted so maybe the price they gave you was fitted? I'm going to order it this week, so I'll check that everything is included for £120 & let you know

would definately reccomend one.

Thats very cheap compared to my dealer. Can you forward me the part numbers and i will go into my dealer and have a bit of a haggle with my dealer making maximum use of the BMWCC discount.

Car sounds great well done. Do keep us informed of how you get on.

Sorry Peter, no. Im one of those people who used to spit on diesels, but company car rules made my only decent choice to be a 330d. Grudgingly I made my selection accordinglyI was completely gobsmacked at how much I liked it - all the torque (and have a look at exactly how much ....) is right there at 1500 rpm upwards. And I liked it so much I bought two more afterwards.......

Peter have you driven one? I suspect not, although of course you may have. On the other hand how many times in town driving do you get your petrol to 5-6000 revs? All the horses are there but locked away. Not so with diesels.

Clearly everyone will have their favourites and make their choices accordingly. And thats fine. But you wont catch me going petrol for a little while anyway ......
