flat spots on my 520ise 24v E34

   Any suggestions welcome, my car has flat spots on acceleration, when I put the boot down I have a gradual response until it hits 3500rpm then it kicks in, this mostly occurs in third gear, but if I bring my foot off the accelerator say about midway the car seems to be more responsive, How do I get rid of this flat area?

	Sounds like something is going wrong with the fueling either to much or too little air/Fuel. I would take it to a good specialist not main dealer and get then to diagnose the exact problem.
