It's a bit of a mixed bag really. De badging may make others thing you have a slower 316/318 which means when you put your foot down you surprise them or on the other hand they may think you want them to think you have a 325 or 330 in which case they could embaress you. If you are proud of your car, then leave the badge on. At the end of the day, if a chav mobile beats you off the lights, the chances are it was a vauxhall that he'll either write off within 6 months or will be in the scrappers by 2008, whereas you car will long outlive anything he ever deserves to own. Keep the badge, it compliments the BMW roudel alongside it! Regards Mike |

I've thought about de-badging my 320i, but everytime i take it out for a spin. I've always had the admiring looks of the fairer sex, and the appreciative nods from their boyfriends/male companions as I drive by. So I don't. I am in the process of adding to the look of the car, but not too much.
And the growl of the Inducted 6potter as you pull away from the lights always has me giggling like a girl everytime. Be proud of your car! and have fun with it. |

I've order my M Coupe to be debadged.
The M badges stuck on the back and sides look so much like an after thought nyway. |

Which is why it was so much fun when I rebadged my M5 as a 520i!!
that's just plain evil.
Oh yeah, but it's so much fun seeing the look on the faces of all sorts of muppets in their 'performance' cars |

I think most people respect the 320. They know its a six cylinder. It is a good engine, smooth and powerful. I'd leave them on. If I see a de badged BMW or Merc I always think its the bottom of the range model. The 320 certainly isn't that.

my e36 and e46 were debadged by their previous owners, i think it suited them more the alpina has badges and i keep them on, it's the only way i can let other drivers know it's not a "normal" 5-series |

Only if people think you have less power than you actually do. Otherwise you can just end up looking silly. |

But you can stick GT wings and different exhausts on any car... even a stealer asked me if I had done the spoiler myself nae badges keeps folk guessing... which can be fun on occassion.

Don't debadge it. Most owners of the larger engined cars leave the badges on (webdunk excepted) so if you take them off it will just make people think you have a 316/318. Also the 320 has a single exhaust and the 325/328 both have a twin pipes so anyone in the know will not be fooled into thinking you have a bigger engine anyway. |
