Judder when cornering

   Help. I have recently bought an E36 328 Saloon. It is a fantastic car except for one thing. Everytime I go round a lefthand bend quickly I get a strong judder. It can be felt though the whole car but especially the steering. It feels like its coming from the front suspension/wheels but it is difficyult to tell. I have already replaced the front ball joints, wishbone bushes, antiroll bar links and the steering linkage. I have also replaced the rear Z arm bushes and the front discs and pads. I Know there is a bit of play on the drivers side of the steering rack which I am going to rectify, but I have been told by a mechanic that this is not the cause of my problem. The problem only occurs at high speed, on left hand bends and when the suspension is under load.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as it is taking the edge off my new purchase.

	I had a look at this website and I could not find anything refering specifically to my problem. Mind it is a website for E30s and mine is an E36. Am I looking in the wrong place?

	I just remember answering the exact question - but cannot remember where! Anyway, what was said was: I had a similar problem but more like a knocking only when going around left hand bends with a lot of cornering force. It ended up being a failed propshaft centre bearing. The rubber it sits in was ripped allowing the propshaft to move over in LH bends hitting the bearing bracket and causing the noise. Perhaps its the same on you car. The propshaft becomes slightly kinked causing the vibration? On my E30 I had to take off the exhaust heat shields to see the bearing.

	Thanks, I hadn't even thought about looking at the propshaft. If it is that, is it an easy and fairly cheap job to fix? I am trying to avoid going to my local BMW dealer, Preston Hall in Stockton, as they have a very bad reputation. Do you know of any reputable BMW specialists in the North East of England or how I could find one?

	The problem is sorted. It turned out to be the rear z arm bush. I just assumed, that when I had them changed and the problem didn't go away, that it must be something else. Didn't even cross my mind that they could have replaced a knackered bush with a faulty one! Just goes to show that you can't always trust new components. Strangely enough it was on the passenger side and the judder only appeared on left hand bends so the problem was only occuring when the wheel was unloaded. Car feels great now, just been for a thrash and scared myself on the wet greasy roads!
