Good stuff - thanks Shogun.

Mine isn't working so I'll follow the tips and have a look later !

And it just blows the fuse - well melts it really in the fuse box

Thanks,
Fingerman

same as mine then  mine only works on high speed when powered directly so it sounds like it could be this ....

If it only works high speed, then I would check the relay.

There is another instruction on Gale's page how to check that. Link is on my website below, look for Gale's page.

Nice one Shogun,

Does the centre section of the pumper come off on all Models? Mine's a 93 525iSE and the last time I took the number plate off I'm sure it was one piece - could be wrong though.

forgot to say it only runs high speed when powered directly, on low speed it just blows the fuse but when its all connected with a/c rad etc it always comes on low speed blows the fuse before it gets the chance to run high speed....

I had the same problem with the low speed circuit on my 635.

Resister was getting vey hot. Turned out there was a short in the wiring. Even when this was discovered & fixed the low speed circuit wouldn't work due to the fan motor burning out (worked ok on high speed though).

Ended up getting a new fan/motor assembley for £123 which was pricey but could heve been much worse.
