The OBC display is back-lit by 3 bulbs, to remove the unit you first need to remove the radio. To remove the radio, you will need a pentagonal tool, available from your dealer for about $12.50 in the US. Open the little door on each side of the radio, unscrew it and pull it forward. You should have enough slack in the harness to leave the radio connected and hanging out of its hole, if not, use a screwdriver to lift the top of the connector, as the top lifts up, the connector will slide off the pins. This can be difficult, so I suggest you leave it unless you cannot get the radio out far enough to get your hand into the opening.

Place your hand in the radio opening, on the wall between the radio and OBC openings is a lever, if you feel along the wall, at the top edge towards the rear you will feel a lever, pull it forward, it can be very difficult, a little force is acceptable, and probably necessary. Pulling this lever will pop the OBC out so be ready to catch it. They usually only come forward a half inch or so, but I have seen them pop right out of the dash. CAUTION: Right Hand Drive vehicles - You must PUSH the lever, not pull it.

With the unit out of the dash, you will see the bulbs, one in each side and one in the top. There is also a bulb in the back for the button back lighting. Replace one or all, and then place the unit back into its opening. With the lever still forward, push the OBC into the opening until you feel it lock in place.

When installing the radio, make sure you do not allow the rear of it to drop. If you look into the opening, you will see a hole in the back which receives the pin on the back of the radio.
