low revs on tickover

   hi,
i have an E30 325i '87 and just recently, when it's warmed up, the tickover speed is at about 500rpm, it sounds like if it was going any slower it would cut out. It hasn't stalled or anything yet, but i'm sure that's not right, can anybody help?
