Hi Everyone

I am after a bit of help please, I have just carried out an engine and
gearbox change on my 1602. I have everything connected corectly, I
think!

But it will just not fire up, petrol is getting through and I have sparks at
he plugs. The starter motor is turning the engine and every so often there
is a poping release of pressure coming from the engine, this seems to
happen quite a bit when I press the accelerator (It may just be a
coincidence though)

Any help and advice would be great!

Thanks Matt

perhaps the dizzy has moved.. or been put on 180 degress out.

Try turning the distributor as you crank the engine.

I recently helped a mate put a motor in his 02, Could not get it started for the life of us, stured out the motor was rebuilt before and the bottom end was 180 out so we were firing no 4 when we should have fired up no 1, Check with a Timimg Stroble Light on no 4 rather than no 1 and swap out your leads 180 degrees so 1,3,4,2 becomes 4,2,1,3 if you get my juist!
