I was looking for a few programmes (I wiped my hard drive) and came accross this. It makes Windows XP look like a Mac OS, and so far I'm impressed. It changes all the menu etc. to look like mac - even the yellow, green, red dots in the corner of your browser window and the bar accross the bottom of the screan with the icons in (inc the Mac face thingy)

*Just a note though to say if your pc crashes etc. after installing this don't hold me responsible - I'm not bothered about my laptop as I've allready wiped the h/d a few times trying out Windows Vista beta (now re-installed XP Home) so I'm not bothered if I have to do it again if owt goes pear shaped. I've got back ups on my other computer of everything thats important to me.

This isn't an emulator, it's a full skin for Windows XP that makes it look like Mac OS/Tiger including the bootup screen.

Rhys, I tried alot of these skinning programs in the past and windowblinds seemed to be the best IMO, as you could change themes from day to day using less resources than the 'factory' XP themes. Loads of themes to choose from as well as make your own up..

but, this was before it went all commercial and started charging for the program as well as themes.

Shame really it was a great piece of freeware that was very stable on win2k & winXP.

I might try this FlyakiteOSX 3.5 on my spare Gaming PC..

Why not? Never have liked the look of Windows. XP looks rubbish (use classic look) Vista, although looks good - is pants, as its a beta version it means nothing works properly.

Just fancied a change and have always liked the look of Macs.

agree Rhys, I avoid beta's like the plague!

As for decorative/ personalised operating system themes, it's an individual taste thing, instead of the factory themes, sounds & look.

Because it's daft, that's why not.

I would have done, but I can't afford one - plus all my software is for Windows. Maybe if I win the lotto I'll get a new Intel one.

What's the matter with Windows anyway? Yes, OK, I know it can crash if you spit at it, but XPpro with all the patches is fairly stable, and you can turn off all the silly bits and make it 'look' like good old 95/98 if you want to.

Works for me

Isn't it kind or reminiscent of sticking an M3 body kit on a 316?

Your PC isn't a Mac so why try to make it look like one.
