what do you think of these dials.

i need a new set because my mpg sticker is peeling off and there's a crack in the screen. i kinda like them but i'm afraid they might be a little boy-racerish. i think they could be attractive in a car with no other interior mods.

anyone ever try to fit a set of these? am i likely to do irrepairable damage?

can i replace with new originals if need be?

Sad, very sad - but hey, that's just my opinion.

You like them, go for it, just don't expect me to agree!

Cats know your every thought.

Whats sad about them? The fact you don't like them?

They're a modification, plain and simple - you either like them or you don't. Had them in my 320i and loads of people liked them - I took them out because I grew tired of them.

Exactly! The same reason that I took off my white indicators!

Haven't ever seen an OEM replacement. You can get grey/silver ones which look very similar to the E46 M3 ones though.

lockwood international dials were always good quality, but was a bit disappointed that they didn't replicate that "escort cossie" backlit look on the cars i fitted them to

if you're replacing the dials with whatever colour consider these while you've got the instrument cluster in bits:

Speed you can judge (race cars don't have speedos after all and their drivers seem to manage ok )

Revs you can hear - who looks at the rev-counter to know when to change gear?

Fuel? Little orange light comes on when I'm low  (& blinds me!)
