Been milling about this forum and the one before for a while now and even attended the last gathering at scone. I'm on mw 3rd BMW now having previously had a 316i compact and a silver 318is coupe. I have had the 5 for about 2 weeks now and am very pleased with it. It is a 2000 model with the 2.5 engine and steptronic box. Really glad to have found one with the factory sports option - 17" wheels, Mtec suspension, clear indicators, sports seats, dechrome, lip spoiler and black headlining.
Only thing I want to do to the car is get some kind of connection for an Ipod. The car doesn't have a CD changer installed and I am aware of a kit that allows you to browse through your tracks using the steering wheel controls and head unit while your Ipod is stowed safely in the glove compartment. Does anyone have any experience of such a thing? I am not looking for a radical ICE instalation and to be honest the absence of squeaks and rattles combined with the sound of the engine will do nicely for now! |
