I spotted some E23s still running in Malaysia when I was on my business trip over the last 10 days or so - they all seemed to be this weird metallic green colour.....

BMW have an assembly plant in Malaysia and I saw
an E36 318i built there. It was in a BMW specialists
and looked like any other - but was a weird metallic
grey and had air con, RHD with an E39 style airbag
wheel, full leather and automatic.

Malaysian requirements led to slightly weird BMWs (assuming anyone could afford one after 100% import duty was slapped on).

My Uncle used to run an E28 520i. RHD, and almost indistinguishable from a UK-spec one (albeit with compulsory air-con), but with HUGE US-spec bumpers front and rear, complete with inset front indicators and side markers....
