Can the 17" impreza P1 wheels be made to fit at all on an E30 M3,

spec is 17x7, ET52, 5x100

Is th PCD too far out and the offset too big?

Cheers

Kevin

I reckon it's doable, et52 gives you around 30-35 mm of spacer depth to paly with.   I'm sure you can get a 5x100 to 5x120 hub converter that is under 35mm thickness.  Pretty sure they start at 25mm total thickness.

I'd start with some of the vw specialists...

if you get stuck I'll dig out some details of a place near me (south london)

I may be wrong but i'm sure Ian Godney put Subaru wheels on his rally car.

Maybe worth asking him.

He did,

but IIRC he didn't use normal hub adapters, I think he engineered a converter as part of his own BBK.

I'm sure he could make you something up, although I'd imagine it'll be a fair bit cheaper if you can find something off the shelf..

Out of interest I found Ian's post on how he fitted his wheels.

Ian said:

"It depends on how the spacers are made , on my rally car project I couldn't find any wheels I liked in BMW fitment , so bought some Subaru wheels , they have an offset of 45 , and a wrong pcd , so I made some 30mm thick spacers , drilled them on a 5 x 120mm pcd and used cap head bolts to bolt them to the hubs , then fitted wheels studs and pressed them in from behind on a 5 x 100mm pcd to fit the wheels too.

If you want to run spacers it will be fine as long as they are a perfect fit and you use top quality bolts / studs / nuts. As long as you have locating rings on the spacers for the wheels to fit there is no strain on the wheel studs"

The original P1 wheels are produced by Speedline. Not sure if they make the same model in BMW fitment?

This is interesting though as their are loads of deep-dish and/or 2/3 piece jap wheels out there which would suit the m3 imo.

Ian said they won't fit, so I'll look for similar.

Matt, the P1 wheels were made by Oz Racing.
