Due to the other posts, I had gathered that the magazine was gone. Good to know it's still going. I've just bought issue 74 this morning and I'll keep an eye open for the next ones too. Hope you can get running with a new publisher.

Hello all,

Thanks very much for this support – I've posted on quite a few
BMW forums and the message is, in the main, very positive. I
know we have our flaws and some people won't like us, but as
you all know you can't please all of the people all of the time...

Currently I do not know which way it will go, but we are
optimistic of the survival of the magazine. I shall make sure I
keep you all abreast of how it develops and where we move to.

In the meantime, in answer to at least one post, issue 75 will be
with subscribers in about a week and a half's time, and on sale
in the shops November 23rd (red E36 328i on the cover).

Thanks once again guys, if we have a core of loyal readers,
we'll keep bringing you the mag! More developments from me
as and when they happen.

All the best

Matt

Matt,

Glad to hear it's not dead.

I eventually succumbed to subscribing, the main reason was that although I always used to buy it if I saw it, actually seeing it in the first place was nigh on impossible. it's OK if you live in large towns with a big WH Smith but I always had trouble finding it.

I would suggest you need to improve distribution to increase sales.

On the whole a very good mag, only spoiled by the usual journalistic errors that only E30 M3 nuts would spot! Its not so much of a BMW marketing mag for new cars as I find BMW Car to be.

I agree, better distribution would help - that's why I subscribed.

I'm surprised that circulation isn't higher than PBMW - I would have thought it would appeal to a far wider audience than the bling of PBMW. There must be several other mags in the Future stable that are doing worse than TBMW in sales.

As for the errors - all mags have errors if you look hard enough.

Fingers crossed for a successful outcome.

Agreed.  BMW Car appears to be far more ubiquitous.  Even the execrable Performance BMW is easier to get.

Matt, any idea what's happeing to 'Retro Cars'? - one of my favourite magazines - and I buy at least 6 or 7 every month!!

I was das to hear bad news of the magazine quiting. But pleased to hear it maybe continuing with the current publisher, or taken over by a new one.

However, I have bought many issues of TotalBMW, I have had trouble finding it. I was going to subscribe, but situations and finances dictated different things for me. Also, sounds sad I guess, but I do enjoy popping into the local newsagents and buying the papers/mags, etc. So subscribing takes that bit of fun out of it.

If the magazine was better distributed, like BMWCar and Performance BMW which seem to be available virtually anywhere, I am sure the situation wouldn't have arrison in the first place.

Just my two pennies worth.

Hope it continues in any case and good luck Matt.

I'm too short for the top shelf  By the time I got one off there, I have knocked half of the other mags off the shelves below

I'm well chuffed as there is clearly a market for this type of Mag, the "other one" is too new (cars featured). Your mag covers a more diverse range & keeps us informed. I have been involved with you guys from the very start & this is excellent news. I did wonder why I received another copy in the post last month. Long May it reign. Richard. PS. Competition is healthy.
