Well, the bad news is my engine is misfiring on #4 – and after trying all the easy fixes myself – the specialist said it is low compression and would be a head off job. I'm not skilled enough to do it myself so it would cost me too much just for the specialist to look at.
She can still be driven as the engine still runs and pulls strongly once she’s above 1500rpm, but it is unbalanced below this and low revs are very lumpy.

This is the later 6-speed model with the 345mm floating brakes and EDC suspension, the suspension will need looking at as although she still handles well I feel she’s not handling as well as she did. As far as I know the rear dampers are original, although all springs and SLS valve are about 1 year old and the front dampers were replaced in 2002.

The interior is in very good condition and doesn't show its near 170k, except for the rear parcel shelf which got scuffed a bit when carrying something on it - although I do have a perfect replacement to go on that I never got to fit.

Gearbox & exhaust system has about 100k on it since BMW replaced it at 58k miles (along with the engine).

Wheels are all straight (including the spare) and three tyres are almost new (less than 1000 miles on them) – although the would need a refurb.

Bodywork is average for its mileage/age and as it’s been used 90% of the time for high-speed motorway commuting between Liverpool, London, Leeds & Bristol, it’s got millions of stone chips. There is evidence of damage to the bonnet at some time before I bought it and the paint is lifting off, although I don’t see any rust, and there are the usual parking/car park/supermarket scuffs, scratches & dings.

I’m leaving a JVC MP3 CD DAB head unit, amp, bass box in the car as they’re no use to me without a car to fit them to, and I've also upgraded dip beam to HID, and private plate M5 OLU is included

Tax runs out this month and she was MOT'd in October (for all the good that did)!

I’d love to be able to strip her down and sell the parts separately, but I’ve got no space or the skills to do it. I am not selling any part separately – this is an all or nothing deal.

She's on close to 170k miles and is in Avus Blue with light grey alcantara with m-sport cloth panels.

I'll be totally honest and say I don't expect a fortune for her and there’s no point hiding the faults that I was planning on fixing…before the engine started playing up - but I'm not letting her go for pennies as I know what it's worth to a local breaker.

Open to reasonable offers.

You'll have to ask the new owner, as it was pictured on the car. It's only
made from a 518 and 530 badge put together - 5 minutes work.
