I was told by someone that, if the locks are seized in deadlock position, the entire doorlock needs to be rebuilt???  does that sound right to you guys?

Anyway, Eamo, i've taken off the door card but can't really find the connector. It's probably me being blind as a bat, as per usual :-)  Where abouts can i find this connector thingy?

Oh and i will take you up on that offer for the leads and the coil. Will be in touch about that.

Cheers

Dave

The locks have seized in the dead lock position, which means that all the doors are jammed solid. Apparently this has something to do with the driver's door lock. Taken off the door card but can't see anything.  There is a roundabout way of getting into the car, but only via the driver's door. The others won't budge :-(

A bit like me when I bought my car. I had a service history but I didn't want to trust it too much as I could get bitten in the rear-end. Therefore I changed all the belts I could see, the timing belt, associated pullys, water pump, ignition coil, ignition leads, spark plugs, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, new wipers, thermostat and coolant. It was probably overkill but I have piece of mind every morning starting the car since I know exactly what has being done to it. Like I said already, every post is jacking the price up!

As for the dead lock, I'm not 100% certain I know what you are referring to.

I don't know what was changed and what wasn't. I only bought the car recently. I've driven it over from Cardiff and it hasn't really moved much since...

It's giving me a bit of trouble at the moment. The dead lock has seized on it. i've been told this is a common fault in the E30s. Any idea on how this can be solved?

Cheers

Dave

Forgot to say it, you should consider a new ignition coil as well and don't forget to change out the spark plugs.

I just put a set into my 316...they are a very steep price. The leads for my Porsche 944 were half that! And a pain in the rear-end to fit on the it as you have to route one cable up along the engine block, only mm's away from the fan belt. It broke my bloody heart. And trying to connect the last cable...oh good god, I needed the hands of a child and several more dislocated joints...it's located underneath the intake manifold down in the heart of the engine. I'm not even too sure what the last cable is for...I think it is some sort of impulse signal for the ECU...can anybody correct me on this?

I'll get them from Otto so :-) Never knew these yokes were that expensive

Might give Halfords a try though.

Euro Car Parts look for UK£62 and GSF look for £68 so it matches the Otto price.

Hi,

I've been looking for a set of plug leads for my E30. Any tips on where i can find good price/quality ones? Otto quoted me €101 plus VAT, which i find kinda expensive...

Cheers
