Hi i've just found an article about an ultra rare 633csi Limited Edition in a magazine named BMW Torque dated summer 1977.The car featured is reg number TOY 840R a limited edition of only ten cars which were prepared by Tom Walkinsaw at a cost of 21,300.They have a small-plated roman numeral on the sides of the body, uprated engine and suspension, Alpina front spoiler. All 10 cars are silver, the colour blending gradually from a darkish grey at the bottom of the body to  light silver on the roof. These cars are pre-Hallmark 633csi's and are more expensive and rarer.

Does anyone no where this car is or any of the other nine.I'm just very curious.

Careful, now! Sometimes the last owner prior to scrapping doesn't necessarily tick the "scrapped" box in the V5....

'Sorn not due' - but that means it's SORN and off the road. The wheels on
that one are the 7x14 'competition' Mahle BBS that were an option on the
M535i and required longer wheel bolts. The colour os Anthracite grey
metallic, colour code 55. Raymond Playfoot who produced the mag/
newsletter thingy also worked for TWR when they did the Hallmark - I
spoke to him some years ago.

Hello from Holland,

I'm also very interested to learn more about this ultra rare 633 CSi. Specially as the car is at least still with us today!

Do you perhaps know a way to re-contact him? as I also would like to get in touch with him. I feel he must know a lot about these cars.

Or perhaps people like: Patrick Eggs or Peter Beaumont, both of them also worked for BMW Concessionaires in the late '70s.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Ronald.

My Dad knew Raymond back in 1982 when they both worked at BMW in
Bracknell but Raymond departed not long after to do his own thing. I can't
think how I got hold of him last time but it was via TWR who are gone
now.

The 633CSi would have been Anthracite with a silver roof - from the pics
the sides are certainly all one colour. TWR also did an XJS around the
same time ('78-'79) in a similar scheme with Wolfrace wheels. It looked
quite vile...........they were sold via Stratstone (I think) and later ones had
a full vinyl roof. Yeeeeuuuuuk!

It rings a few bells - around 1996-7 there was a grey 633CSi with a silver
roof in Hughes' breakers in Bicester. I had the ECU out of it for a T plate
728i. At the time I had a really lovely Cashmere gold T plate 633CSi Auto
and I had a few bits and bobs off it for mine - but it really was a rusted
out wreck apart, oddly enough, for the passenger's front wing which was
perfect (replaced). I got if grit blasted and sold it to a guy in Slough where
the A4 meets the M4.

The scrap one was an 'S' plate and the number plate began with WOW
which is a Southampton area registration.

Patrick Eggs later worked for TWR as well. It was via him that I got
Raymond's phone number! I'm going to have a dig through some old
diaries!

Hi,

Many thanks in advance! It would be great if you could find a phone nr, address or e-mail of one of these persons.

Who knows what that might lead to in terms of new interesting info on these rare and special E24 coup's!

Best wishes,

Ronald

I don't have my diary for 1999 anymore so no number I'm afraid. patrick
Eggs wasn't that bothered tbh and just have me Raymond's number - now
he was a knowledgeable bloke who remembered quite a lot.
