Troops,

I'm just off the phone with a new member who's not online yet. He was mentioning that he would quite like some kind of evening meet as Sunday during the day clashes with other activities.

What are folks thoughts on this? Are you up for some midweek, evening gatherings? What would you be interested in doing? I wondered if this might be a good excuse to start trying out some short runs once the evenings brighten up a bit? I suspect the meets would be smaller than our monthly gatherings but that could work out nicely if we end up plotting wee drives...

Cheers,

Duncan

fwiw we used to have friday evening meetings in Aberdeen, they were quite popular in the summer months with the long evenings and quieter roads, they can work very well as a bit of a change from the usual... i looked forward to hitting the road straight from work in the opposite direction, but it much easier when my then-workplace was a bit closer to 'deen to make the meeting start time

in short, well worth giving it a go a few times

It certainly is a good idea

Its not going to to be suitable for everyone though

Nothing is,as you can`t please everyone

But no harm in trying something new

You can do karting nights

Drives in summer nights

As Steve says Friday nights were good up here when we did them (about twice) and i think this will be the way forward this year for Spring time on wards up here (You heard it here first)

i'd have another crack at the friday/saturday evening meetings (7:00pm-onwards please to give me time to get there on a friday, saturday anytime), and I'd still like a go at the revamped KartStart place - kill two birds with one stone?

Would prove difficult in my line of work. Sometimes finish early and sometimes late so I couldn't commit to anything until the day in question.

Small more frequent meets sounds a good plan to get out the house though...

Alan.

ooh is that new kartstart open now!  I'm up for that.  bring on the light nights as I loved those couple of meets we had in the evenings.   at least once the dry weather returns once we clean our cars they will stay that way for atleast a couple days until a seagull takes aim!

dunc id go along with that idea,,some summer nights you find yourself sitting in the garden wishing you were out and about on the roads..i usually find all sorts of excuses to go to the shops in the summer, just to get out to play!!! wife asked me one night in the middle of winter why i dont buy her anything from shops no more? i said the its cold and dark and i want to stay in and keep you warm darling..(now where did i put that bucket?)..
