One of my sealed beam headlights have gone on my 1974 2002tii. Rather than replacing the blown one I was thinking of updating to Halogen units. Has anyone else done this?
If so what units do I need, how much are they? Can I use units from a scrapped E30 ? Any info much appreciated as it's getting dark quick in the NorthEast of Scotland !! |

After No response from the forum!, I went to my local car parts shop.
He quoted 12quid for a replacement for the 7" Sealed beam unit, then he remembered he had a Wipac halogen conversion kit somewhere. He gave me this for 30quid, so now I should have decent lights and easy to replace halogen bulbs. |

I would recomend buying some uprated bulbs rather than standard as they make a huge difference. I have just done this modification with my 635 and put in Zenon H1 bulbs. Bright does not even descibe them

Cheers, I might try those bulbs. I am planning on fitting the halogen units this weekend, so I'll see how they are first.
