Hi,

I have an N reg 318is, the alarm is very sensitive and keeps going off, how do I adjust it ?

Also do I have to get a service with a BMW dealer as this is expensive ?

I to have a 318is. I believe you can de-activate the tilt alarm sensor by performing the locking movement twice,i.e. lock the door with the key and before removing the key from the door, lock the door again. Or press the locking button on your key remote twice. Not sure if you can adjust the sensitivity of tilt sensor. You of course dont have to get a BMW service, but having a full history will certainly help when you come to re-sell and at least you can be sure that genuine parts are being used on your car.
