I bought an AC/DC dvd, live at Donington - only reason was I was there. Bit of a pain to try and see myself, I know I was stood next to the mixing desk in the middle. Mettalica were on before them. Those were the days.

I expect I've still got the t-shirt somewhere, I know I stil have my ticket stub - as well as the one for 1992

CD players are so cheap why still use tapes?

Because (probably like me) he..

a) wants to keep the car original.

b) realises that a car is not the best place to listen to music (I do that at home on on my B&O  )

c) listens to the engine instead!

Bit of an indie rock person myself. I'm currently listening to The Fratellis, Muse and Kings of Leon oh and I almost forgot, The Killers and My Chemical Romance.

Yes but if ever there was a mod that was very easilly revesible and would keep the standard cassett feeling fresh then this is it. After all Tape decks are known for going belly up after a few years. Then you have an original but knackerd tape player.

One of the best things about my 530 is that you can appreciate the music since it is nice and refined inside while cruising at 70-80mph.

As for listening to the engine, Ok on a sunday morning blast when you get a chance to open her up OK, but on the 30-40mph commute to and from work I hardly get above 3000rpm.

Let me put it this way if BMW had made your's and Horsey's cars now they would be fitted with CD players

Yes but only just. They were fitting cassette players as standard up until very
recently.

That's a financial decision though, not one based on the quality of sound possible in a car.

It is absolutely shameful though that up until very recently BMWs came as standard wirth a tape player.

Sound quality is rubbish in my car... nowhere decent to site speakers.

Also always been sceptical of B&O... is the sound quality as good as the design? They seem gimmicky to me but that's not a very well informed opinion...

In the E39 I'm enjoying my 1st Kings of Leon album prompted by the absolutely fab song 'knocked up'. Great driving tune. This is alternating with a tasty Go Deep radio mix I've downloaded.

(Anyone into really nice house, visit their site www.fishgodeep.com. They're a Cork crowd, ye might be familiar with them from their recent commercial hit 'The Cure and The Cause' which was big in UK)

In the Elise, the hoods down at every opportunity and I'm listening to K-Series behind my left ear.

I think B&O use Philips internals. As for the sound quality in the car,
wouldn't a top head unit with very good quality speekers in the original
spaces and an amplified sub in the boot improve things? They did in my jeep
and I'm going to change everything in the M3 soon too.

What the hell is it with AC/DC? Jeepers. You should email the band. I'm sure
they'd come over and play at the next BMW club meet if they knew that every
second guy seems to be playing them in the car. (If they're not already
confined to the nursing home that is).

I think not having a parcel shelf is the problem...

S'pose I'll have to improve sound quality by fitting a sports exhaust...

Philips internals? Golly.
