Does anyone know what the different category ratings mean if a car has been damaged
Also I have heard that a cat d car when repaired the cat d category can be removed is this correct Regards Rob |

Cat A: Crushing only Cat B: Breakers Only Cat C: Repair above the value of the vehicle Cat D: Economically not viable for repair There used to be a way where once the car was repaired to a high enough standard that you could apply for an inspection, if the engineer was happy you could apply to have the damaged withdrawn from the database That was years ago though, now I'm pretty sure that this can not be done, does not make a huge differance to be honest, if you keep it and have another knock, most insurance companies will knock of 10% of the value for a second total loss claim, if you sell it on, the person usually gets a cheaper car that current retail prices |
