Taking a look at this tomorrow. Any thoughts?

It's been MOT'd recently and lad selling it seems very genuine. €650

I'm guessing its been painted so check carefully for any hints of the conditions that may lie beneath.  Having said that, the asking price means that if it drives half decently then its a throwaway car if anything significant goes awry and one to have some fun with in the meantime!

Not bad for the price, Watch out for rust, especially in the rear arches, they tend to rot from the inside out. Also check the brake bomb and the twin exhaust ( both expensive and a bit of a pain). I'd doubt she's had a complete respray and from the photos looks quite an honest, straight motor. Hope it goes your way tomorrow.

I've driven them in the past and are a great old cruiser and quite thirsty !!!

I know this car and it drives very well and been a 3 speed auto it is prity rapid too. infact I worked on the car 2 new frount calapers a munth ago with frount disk and pads and some other bit's and pices. it's not a minter and has had some work. but too many people seem to pass the poor old e23 bye but it is a unmalasted car that deserves care. and could be maed to be one very nice hun and the Guy selling is a nice chap. I wonted to bye it but as I have a very poorley e23 and just got another its not to good an Idear

They used a Brake Bomb instead of a Servo, Just check that you have a good peddle the brake feel should be very precise

Looks like a steal at that money. Would it be to drive or restore? Nice looking
classic. It's a very long time since I've seen one of those on the road. What
are the tyres like? They're the bloody expensive metric ones aren't they? If it
just got a new MOT then it should pass the NCT easily enough too. Or is it
old enough to be classed as a classic car?

 LOL

the onley thing to look out fore is rot, the breaks are good. I love the break bomb but it will feel diffrent I think this one is good. You can get the presher light come up but it's always down to one off the two sensors. If not there not too hard to chane if a little messey :) One thing the e23 duse well is stop and it will pull up shap if you need it to thanks to the 4 pot callapers.

She don't need to much work and runing wise this one is sweet as a nut. On this age of car I would remove the wheels and wax oil the arches and box sections witch is what I am doing  and thay can rot as I have found on my own car. I would also get shot of them nastey rims and get some cheep e34 rim's or some classey BBS split rims All in all well worth a little work to make nice and how offen do you see one ?

If you buy her and need any help locating parts there is a small e23 nut's with some spears betrean us but all bits are still avalable from BMW and a not too much

You can fined some of us Hear http://www.bmw7resource.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=5947.0

Looks a complete steal if you are into them. Could get a couple of years cheap motoring out of it even if you're not fussed with making it into a minter. probably make as much back on spares when finished with it. But it looks good in the photo's and obviously had a fair bit of care in it's life. I'd imagine you are going to buy it, so well ware !

Well it's hardly a sport saloon with the promise of great driving dynamics
and tail out action is it. Still the rarity value of a car is what gets a lot of
people excited.

Well now the official owner of this classic. Many thanks Curley who I got out of bed to give it the once over. To say he was a great help would be an understatement. The car is running as smooth as possible. Only down side is that the seller gave the right passanger door a bang last night. No kink in the panel so it should smooth out hopefully.

Thanks again Curley

Yeah but the how come the old W126 S Class of that period has built up such a loyal following?? The 7 Series was always the only car in the BMW range that was underrated if you ask me... Also, the 6 Series wasn't exactly a sports car of any sort and that has built up a major following in recent years.

Well done, lovely car, always loved those old 7 series, have you much work to do to her or are you just going to drive her as is?
