I heard somewhere it was some guy called "Boyke Boyer", but I'm uncertain about it. Could somebody clarify this for me??

That's ironic, they are three of my favourite Bimmer designs of the last 20 years, the E39 is definitely my most though! Thanks for that, appreciate it. He's Japanese from what I read, I didn't think they could design cars that looked half decent!

Clause Luthe was head of design 1976 to 1990. He totally renewed BMW design with the E32 7-series in 1986, E34 5-series in 1988 and the 8-series in 1989.
Clause Luthe was at BMW until 1992 apparently

Looking at this thread, I'm going to take on a project of the BMW car designer History and post it up here (somewhere). I have this info somewhere at home and will post up my findings, with pics.  (given time)

A reference guide to BMW designers so to speak..
