Hi guys, hope you can help.  I'm replacing the head gasket on my M30 engine.  Whilst the lump is stripped, I'm going to carry out some upgrade modifications.  I'm looking to replace the valve seats, gas-flow head, bigger valves, performance cam (around 290), custom chip, new rings, bearings etc.  I'm looking for a really good source for the engineering work and the only place I have found so far is in Whitburn, but have no idea of the quality of their work.  Has anyone got any knowledge of local shops?  I live in Coatbridge and have access to a van, so anywhere near central belt would be ideal.

Many thanks.

You could try Marc at 'The Garage' http://www.the-garage.co.uk/.

Don't think he actually does rebuilds, but I'm sure he knows a man who can. He gets an excellent reputation too.

HTH,

Duncan

Try BM Motors in Coatbridge on 01236 607413 the owner is called Davie he might know someone or be able to put you onto someone.

I live in Coatbridge as well and use wee Davie all the time. I would recommend him if you are looking for a place to service your car etc.....

He is in Greenhills Ind Est on the coltswood road toward Glenboig

Isn't Tommy Smith's the main machine shop in this area?  It certainly used to be, but he'll be getting on a bit now, my grandfather recommended him to me 20 odd years ago.
