Spotted my local Tesco now have 99RON SUL in stock. One of the tuning companies down south recommends this as their preferred fuel so I thought I might give it a try... how widespread is it in Scotland?

I tried it for the first time a fortnight ago and the car seemed to run as good as it did under V Power, unfortunately the nearest Tesco to me is Springburn(next to Costco) which is about 1/2 hour drive for me so it won't be a regular thing

Dude, Myself, Colin and Duncan have been been using it for a couple of weeks now and all agree its at least as good as V-Power anyway.

I seem to be getting alot of miles to a tank but I don't if thats because I am driving like a Fairy...who does loads of M'Way miles.

on "normal" cars you won't notice any difference at all between 95 and 98/99, on performance cars you should.

for example, in my owners handbook it says...

"the engine of your bmw alpina b10 3.3 /touring is configured for the use of unleaded petrol super plus with an octane rating of 98 ROZ.

because the engine is knock-controlled it is possible to use different fuel grades, the minimum benig premium-grade unleaded 95 ROZ.

the stated performance and consumption figures are achieved using super plus 98 ROZ while ROZ 95 will lead to lower performance and increased consumption."

yours may say something similar
