We spotted this a month or so back. Well it's on E bay again.

I googled the details - located at a Paint Shop / Garage in Barons Court, West London. Still looks good in my opinion, and I'm still interested in what it makes ultimately - may not even be this time round though.

I am 90% sure that I saw this car some years ago at a BMW spares trader's premises when I was looking collecting some spares. It belonged to the owner.
The car had been completely fitted out with brand new parts (including engine) and renovated to a very high standard. It's location in central London looks like it could be that car.
At the time he did not want to sell it.
If I am right, then this should be well worth buying. However, to validate the tax free status of a CSL is quiote difficult, as even BMW did not keep proper records at the time, and many have been statde to be 1972 cars when they were not, and some of the very last chassis numbers that should have been in 1973 were actually on cars that were built in 1972.

8,850 - Above the reserve in any case. Sounds a fair price based on what looked like a nice fully restored car. I guess nowhere near covering the amount spent in getting it to that condition though.

Howard this car is a csi rather than l. All uk rhd csl's are tax free as they were built in 1972.
