    Posted: 06-October-2007 at 20:39

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum but have been down once or twice before at Mondello to meet a few of you in a 1981 E23 745i. I'm wondering could anyone help me. I recently bought an e28 M535i ex rally car from the UK. Its been off the road for the last few years and the hydraulic brake booster is leaking on it now where it meets the master cylinder. The brake pedal goes about half way down and goes firm - and the brakes do stop the car but not very well(all 4 calipers seem to be working). I'm wondering what to do about the booster side of things - I rang OTTO and the dealers about it. Is there anyone about who may have a working booster lying about that they would be willing to part with or is there anyone who might rebuild the existing one for me or is there anyone in Dublin who would know what to do????

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks ,

Paul.

Hey x19dude,

Afraid brake bomb failure rate is quite common, but it's interchangable between models fitted with the m30 engine (e28, e24 and e23.) Mad expensive with BMW and as m30 motors were rare enough in Ireland, best bet it to go for ebay.co.uk

Good luck.

I remember admiring these cars as a kid.  My dad always liked the M635CSI but I preferred the look of the M5 instead.  One of the guys in my school, his dad had a E28 528i and all the kids wanted a shot in it.

When you go to the realoem site make sure you click on the Archive tab and not current.

You might also find some info regarding exploded diagrams and 'how to do things' on various CD's and DVD's on ebay.

I have just bought one for my E60.

This doesn't cover your E28 but I've given you the link so you can get an idea of what may be out there in terms of info for an E28.

Good luck with it.

Andrew
