I am considering purchasing a P/R plate 735 or maybe 728 and I'm trying to find a definitive list/article which will help me avoid engines suspect to the sulphur problem. I have a '94 740 which has been reblocked and I've read various pieces on the net but they all say slightly different things. Anyone know an authoratitive source or can help me? Thanks.

The best source I've seen is http://www.lestac.co.uk/bmw/nikasil.htm.
Search this forum for nicasil / nikasil as the topic is a recurring one. |

The easiest solution is to give the chassis number to your local "friendly" BMW service manager, he will give the final word on the block used in the car and any remedial actions since manufacture.
