I had a couple of sideways moments in the M3 over the last few weeks. It was mainly on takeoff and in frosty conditions so I cant have too many complaints. I kept the speed down so no other problems. I've great grip from the 235 front and 245 rears but nearly 300 ponies will let loose sooner or later no matter how good the tyres are. Sorry to hear about your misfortune Eamo. At least you weren't hurt.

Even in 1.8 they go very well. They are light and fly. So a 323 must be a ripper. A mate of mine followed me up the wicklow gap in his 1.9 Gti and honestly had to work hard to keep up.... he said not me.

A friend of my mums used to have a beautiful blue e21 323i with all the
bits. I was only around 12 at the time but I can still remember being very
impressed with it. And it went like stink. I suppose it would be worth looking
for one of these. There's no way I'd consider a 316/318 of that era. They
just look wrong with the single headlights.

What Type of E21 are you looking for. I know of a mint 1980 316 with a 1.8 M10 Engine.

Have a look in my gallery.. :)

Sorry to hear for your troubles. 6500 thats a bit expensive. Thats what mine cost for the whole front end to be rebuilt in 2006 after my little trip down a hill.

Thats terrible Eamo. Do you think the insurance will write it off or has a
garage told you it's too bad? Pity to lose such a car in that way. At least
you're okay. Could have been worse though. Passed a nice new car on it's
roof in someones garden just up the road from me on Sunday. Black ice
everywhere.

Had the same sort of weather here the other day - back end was snaking about all over the place and only doing 15 to 20 mph. Local council can't be bothered gritting villages and back roads. Certainly makes you grip the seat with your backside when it happens.

It's times like this when I wish the Vitara was on the road (needs a few things doing to it, currently SORN).
