Dash cluster help

Hi just bought a  carbon fibre look cluster overlay for my 5 ( see link below)

I had chrome rings before on my previous cluster ( TILL PIXEL DEATH OCCURED) and managed to fit them ok.
However the new overlay looks like it needs the perspex part removing so you can actually stick it down, but the glass looks glued to the black bezzel bit, I test tried prying it apart on my old cluster and it cracked the glass bit 
Has anyone done this conversion or any tips on how to fit it? I remember when I fitted the previous chrome rings they flexed just enough to pass through the bezzel holes for the speedo and rev counter, cannot imagine that`s how to stick the overlay in...or is it?
