When I was in Frank Keane's yesterday getting a quote for my car repairs I came across this. I knew he has a collection including a 507 but i didn't know about this baby!

Apologies for the poor quality but they were taken with a camera phone in a dim and small room!

Larger pics of the BMW 503...

Nice, but I think the 507 is a great looking car.

Does the front look a bit Porsche-like?

There's a hint of Alfa Romeo there too.

I was at the Techno Classica classic car show in Essen a few weeks ago.  Fantastic show and worth a trip for anyone with even a passing interest in the classics.  I have some BMW related photo's that I must post up later.

That's lovely,

Does he keep his collection out at the dealership? if so I might pop out and take a look. I know that he did have an M1, does he still have it?

Also, while we are talking about classic BMW's, the BMW museum re opens in June of this year after a 2 year renovation. I for one will paying a visit. It is located beside the new BMW welt which opened last October.

Regards,

Bayerische,

Yes he still has the M1, its in the showroom at the moment with his 2002, 2002 touring and E30 320i. As for the rest of his collection, he has a warehouse somewhere with lots of other classics.

Yeah, I think I will, Its cheap to jump on a company bus.

The last time I was in Munich, BMW only had the temporary museum which took a whole 10 minutes to see. It's a fantastic city with plenty of other stuff to do, I would like to see it in the summer this time.

Can I borrow your felt hat and lederhosen for the trip Chris?, just so I can immerse myself in the whole Bavarian experience.

Regards,

Bayerische
