How on earth didn't he manage to catch the first slide?

It wasn't exactly a big slide or going very fast. 

Poor driving if he over corrected like that to make it go more in the other direction.

My excuse when this happened to me in the M3 as I accelerated away from a standstill at traffic lights left through a roundabout was that I was on the way to the garage to get the LSD sorted - when it locked up!

(p.s. the oil was like treacle when we 'spooned' it out)

I blame the nut behind the steering wheel. When you have that much weight and power over the back wheels in the wet, you don't keep dabbing the throttle with a crowd of people on either side. What a dunce!

Probably because he wasn't expecting it. It's easy to watch someone else drive and then critisise
